We are looking to bring on a full-time in-house Engineer/Drafter to support our expanding scope of work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of engineering design, problem-solving, and collaborating closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams.

Position Overview The In-House Engineer/Drafter will be responsible for producing detailed drawings, engineering calculations, and technical documentation for commercial roofing, cladding, and glazing projects. This role supports both pre-construction and active project phases, ensuring designs meet structural requirements, manufacturer specifications, and building codes.
Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation plans for roofing, cladding, and glazing systems
Perform engineering calculations related to structural loads, attachment methods, and system performance
Seal and sign architectural drawings, calculations,
and other documentation as required
Review architectural and structural drawings to identify project requirements and potential conflicts
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to develop constructible and cost-effective solutions
Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with product specifications
Assist with submittal packages, RFIs, and technical documentation
Update drawings and engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle
Provide technical support to field crews during installation
Professional Structural Engineer, Licensed in the Province of Ontario
Experience in commercial construction; experience with roofing, cladding, or glazing systems is a solid asset
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting software
Strong understanding of building codes, structural principles, and envelope systems
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Robust communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
