Your Opportunity:
The High River General Hospital Auxiliary Term Care Centre (LTC) is home to 50 Elderly Residents. Nestled 66.5 kms south of Calgary in the beautiful community of High River, Alberta. The vibrant High River Hospital offers an excellent rural nursing opportunity in a unique and diverse Alberta health services care facility. The Registered Nurse (RN)in LTC works in a Resident Family Centered Care environment that focuses on meeting the comprehensive and complex care needs of the Residents and their families in a home like setting. The RN will work collaboratively with a variety of disciplines including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) Health Care Aides (HCA), Rehabilitation Staff, Recreation Therapy, Pharmacy and the Physicians group with the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health. The RN provides leadership through assessment, planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of Resident care. The RN actively engages in health promotion, chronic disease management and enhancing the Residents activities of daily living.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit,
the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications: Successful completion and graduation from an accredited Nursing Program required. Demonstrated Nursing experience in a leadership or charge nurse role required. Preferred Qualifications: 2-5 years Nursing Experience in an Adult Clinical Care and Long-Term Care.
Experience and current competency with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI). Completion of Supportive Pathways or equivalent dementia care education or experience is an asset. Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work as member of a care team. Critical thinking, effective decision making and conflict resolution skills preferred.
Palliative
Care experience will be considered a preferred asset.
