Become a key support for students as a School-Based Youth Care Worker. Work within educational environments to help students facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
In this position, you will assist in the development of individualized educational plans under teacher supervision. A background in child care and two years of relevant experience, including work in public education, is crucial. You will liaise with families, conduct community visits, and engage in intervention strategies to promote student success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with teachers and community partners
• Implement academic and social interventions effectively
• Participate in field trips and special extracurricular events
• Provide transportation for students as necessary
• Communicate regularly with parents and agencies
Requirements:
• High school diploma and relevant college certification
• Experience working with exceptional youth
• British Columbia driver's license required
• Effective communication abilities in various formats
• Proven ability to handle challenging behavior
