Senior Technology Sourcing Manager, Infrastructure & Strategic Procurement - 4545
Duration: 12 Months
Our client - a large Canadian insurance and financial services organization is on a search for a senior Sourcing Managers to join their Technology Strategy & Transformation organization on a contract basis.
They are looking for experienced technology procurement professionals who have worked in a large banking or insurance environment and have personally led complex, multi‑stakeholder technology sourcing and contract negotiations. The mandate is focused on infrastructure technology sourcing and will combine strategic sourcing with hands‑on procurement execution. Key areas include developing sourcing and negotiation strategies, managing complex supplier engagements, identifying cost savings and consolidation opportunities, supporting supplier risk and contract governance, and working closely with senior technology and business stakeholders.
They are specifically looking for someone senior enough to step into a fast‑paced environment and independently manage complex technology sourcing initiatives. SAP Ariba experience would be an asset, but the core requirement is strong technology sourcing and negotiation experience.
Responsibilities:
The Contractor shall provide strategic sourcing and supplier management services with a specialized focus on technology/operations/construction solutions, in support of the Company’s objectives to optimize value, manage supplier risk, and control total cost of ownership.
The Contractor shall report to the Company’s designated Director or delegate and perform services in alignment with the Company’s sourcing, procurement, and governance frameworks.
Partner with management to proactively develop negotiation and contract strategies for high‑risk, complex, and sensitive sourcing initiatives.
Influence sourcing decisions and drive supplier consolidation.
Lead cost savings and cost‑avoidance initiatives.
Develop and implement robust sourcing strategies that:
Align with business objectives
Deliver cost‑effective and sustainable solutions
Optimize total value generated from the supplier base
Gather and analyze data to create playbooks and strategies supporting:
Various business models
Services under consideration or currently under contract
Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
Update and complete supplier risk,
contract file and P2P metadate information to develop and mange supplier contracts.
Must Haves:
At least 5 years direct experience negotiating technology contracts.
Experience leading complex projects and supporting the development of strategic programs. Strong communication and storytelling skills.
Demonstrated strength in leading multi‑stakeholder technology contracts in a fast‑paced setting. Excellent critical thinking/problem solving abilities with diverse business acumen. Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous work assignments in a high demanding and fast paced environment.
Demonstrated strength in leading multi‑stakeholder contracts in a fast‑paced environment.
Post secondary degree and 5+ years in technology procurement, sourcing and relationship management. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent critical thinking/problem solving abilities with diverse business acumen.
Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous work assignments in a high demanding and fast paced environment
