Role Summary:
Kristian Electric is looking for an Journeyperson Millwright to join our Saskatoon Branch as an Overhead Crane Service Technician. As an Overhead Crane Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and the installation of overhead cranes and hoists. The successful candidate will be:
Reliable and organized with maintaining and working with project deadlines and customer requests
An exceptional customer relationship builder
Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Safety focused
Key Responsibilities:
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of overhead cranes and equipment
Assisting in the installation of overhead cranes and corresponding equipment
Conducting full inspections of overhead crane systems, electric hoists, and manual hoists at customer facilities
Troubleshooting equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs required
Repairing or replacing defective parts
Cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and performing other maintenance work on lifting equipment
Servicing attachments and working tools.
May require out of town work within Saskatchewan
Educational Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 4 years or 8,000 hours of documented overhead crane service and/or inspection experience .
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Must be comfortable working at heights
Ability to work varied hours, overtime and on call if needed
Must have valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract, evidencing a minimum of 3 years clean driving record and a non-graduated driver’s license.
Must be safety oriented
Training: WHMIS, SCOT, Fall Arrest, MEWP, Forklift, Crane Operator Training, First Aid.
Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification is an asset

Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
Reliable, organized, and attentive to details when working on and servicing overhead cranes, hoists, and projects
Exceptional customer service experience
Ability to function as part of a team and to request and accept direction as required
Make sure diagnosis and services are accurate for customers, and the safety and integrity of the business, as well as building regulation compliance
Dedication to safety and willingness to fully participate in the Kristian Health & Safety Program
Positive attitude towards learning, motivating, working on a team, and engaging with customers
Ability to be accountable with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Transparent communicator both written and verbally
Working Conditions:
Shop environment
Requires steel toed footwear
Eye protection is provided
Ability to lift 50 lbs
