Brighter Staffing Agency seeks a talented and passionate Cook to join our West Vancouver, BC team. As a Cook, you will prepare and cook various dishes for our clients, ensuring high-quality and timely service. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver food for residents, guests, and staff.

Review menus and production sheets before meal preparation to ensure proper and attractive presentation.

Use correct food handling techniques.

Conduct daily temperature checks on fridges, freezers, and storerooms, recording results on the audit form.

Prepare and serve therapeutic/specialty diet foods according to planned menus.

Make necessary menu substitutions and document them.

Adhere to meal and snack service schedules.

Follow daily production charts, standardized recipes, and composite menus within budget constraints.

Comply with all regulations and dietary department policies.

Actively participate in planning and preparing special occasions and theme meals.

Attend staff meetings, in-services, and training sessions.

Respect and promote resident rights and responsibilities.

Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.

Follow health and safety legislation and safe job procedures.





Work with trustworthiness with vulnerable adults.

Uphold the organization's values and philosophy, including ethics, morality, and integrity as per the Code of Conduct.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate

Red Seal Certificate preferred

Experience in preparing food in large quantities is essential, particularly in healthcare or retirement environments.

Familiarity with the Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating is required.

Knowledge and experience with unique and therapeutic diets are necessary.

The ability to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for most of the shift is required.

Fluency in a second language (French/Mandarin/Spanish/Hindi is beneficial.

A current Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, must be provided or obtained.
