Drive cultural healing initiatives as the Cultural Healing Coordinator at the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA). Engage in traditional practices and support holistic mental health for Indigenous women and families.
This key position is focused on promoting healing through traditional teachings and wellness activities. You will coordinate land-based programs vital to ONWA's mission, offering valuable cultural insights and support to the community. Your experience and knowledge will help bridge the gap between tradition and up-to-date approaches to mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate land-based traditional healing ceremonies
• Facilitate educational workshops and healing circles
• Provide cultural guidance to staff and community members
• Implement a Two-Eyed Seeing approach in all activities
• Encourage cultural preservation through engagement initiatives
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Social Work or related fields
• 3-5 years of experience in cultural programming
• Familiarity with Indigenous traditions and ceremonies
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Willingness to travel for community support
