You will harness advanced quantitative techniques to innovate and optimize our trading strategies. Global Equities As a key part of Global Equities, our team is dedicated to advancing and refining equities trading strategies and systems globally. By joining this team, you will contribute to and spearhead projects with direct, real-world impact on RBC Capital Markets’ daily operations. What will you do? Research, create, and implement quantitative trading strategies using optimization and cutting-edge machine-learning techniques
Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to expand already-existing algorithms that trade millions of shares and thousands of times a second
Analyze market data to investigate previously unexplored structural research areas
Think critically and creatively within a cooperative and close-knit team working on Canada’s largest trading floor
Build and maintain advanced analytical tools to support research/trading activities and improve efficiencies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, IT, risk management, and middle/back office,
to drive strategic initiatives and optimize trading performance
Actively assist team with booking, reporting and market analysis in futures, forwards, swaps, option combos, ETFs
What do you need to succeed? Must Have Post-secondary education in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Computer Science
Creative and novel problem-solving approach
Strong math and statistics background
Strong programming experience e.g. Python, SQL
Experience in statistical modeling
Proficiency in optimization and Bayesian statistics
Strong desire to be part of a team and excellent communication skills
Experience in finance not required
Nice to Have Familiarity with Black-Scholes options pricing models and listed options generally
