Overview: The E4 Engineer is a professional engineer or geoscientist who applies engineering knowledge to provide engineering, estimating, planning, and quality management services for medium complexity projects and/or operations safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

Non Integrated Areas (NIA) Planning & Strategy has an exciting chance for a senior electrical & automation engineer based out of the countrys Edmonds office in Burnaby.

The individual will join the Non-Integrated Areas (NIA) generation planning team comprised of 10 other engineers.

The NIA group is responsible for generation of electricity for 14 isolated microgrids that are not connected to the integrated grid and serve over 20 primarily Indigenous communities.

The group is the asset owner and accountable for capital & maintenance planning for 17 diesel generating stations and 1 run of river hydro facility.

Grid scale battery energy storage and microgrid control systems are in the process of being added to the facilities to allow integration of community owned renewable energy projects.

Application of these leading-edge systems are first of its kind at the company.

What you will be doing: Act in the role of Professional of Record or Owners Engineer in Electrical, Automation, Protection and Control disciplines for all of NIAs generation & energy storage facilities Provide technical support for diesel generation systems & energy storage facilities for off grid communities (100 kW 10 MW) comprising of: Diesel gensets and associated cooling systems, protection, controls, instrumentation, switchgear and fueling systems Battery energy storage & power conversion systems, protection, controls, instrumentation, and switchgear Design, program, troubleshoot and commission a wide variety of intelligent electronic devices including: Generator and station PLCs and HMIs, Fuel system PLCs,



Governor controls, SCADA systems, Protection relays and communication devices, and Microgrid controllers Prepare technical documentation including control narratives, specifications, standards, hazard logs, inspection & test plans, test procedures & reports, installation & commissioning procedures, operation & maintenance procedures, condition assessment reports, drawings and cable schedules Witness factory acceptance testing and oversee site installation and commissioning of diesel gensets, battery energy storage systems and associated equipment.

Work with electrical maintenance crews and CPC Technologists to sign off on repair and re-commissioning of protection, control and automation devices.

Help develop capital and maintenance plans Utilize MS CoPilot to enhance innovation and efficiency What you must have: A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.

Registered Professional Engineer (P.

Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.

Geo.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or with another jurisdiction and eligible for registration as such with Engineers & Geoscientists BC The company uses a Digital Sign and Seal Technology.

You may be required to subscribe to a digital seal technology service offered by Notarius Intermediate English skills for professional environment, written and spoken Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and Power
