ASSISTANT POWER SKATING INSTRUCTOR Position Type: Temporary Part Time Number of Positions: One (1) Department: Community Services Department - Recreation Division File Number: SV26-104 Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Road, Belleville, ON) Hours: Fall Season: Tuesdays 5:00pm 7:15pm (hours subject to change based on ice availability and registered participant numbers) Employee Group: Non-Union Salary: Grade 6 $26.14 - $ 28.28 per hour Closing Date: Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 4:30 PM PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Assistant Power Skating Instructor assists the Power Skating Instructor to provide instruction to children and youth in the City of Bellevilles Power Skating Programs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and for ensuring the rules and regulations set out by the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department and/or outside organizations are followed.

Represent the City with professionalism by following all of the Staff Policies and Procedures set out by the Department.

Must be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills.

Responsible for assisting to provide skating instruction and feedback to students and their parents in the Citys power skating programs.

Assist the Power Skating Instructor in an emergency situation.

Assist in the administration and paperwork for the Citys power skating programs.

Attend all training and staff meetings as scheduled.

Standard First Aid with CPR-C or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED Experience working with children & youth Skilled skater with experience teaching/coaching skate programs Satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check HOW TO APPLY: We thank all applicants who apply but advise that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
