Be a key legal advisor at BGCFS as a Legal Counsel based in Owen Sound/Walkerton. This role involves critical legal representation and consultation in child welfare.

As a full-time, permanent member of the Legal Services team, you will handle various court cases related to the CYFSA and Family Law, providing vital legal support to caseworkers. The position requires solid negotiation skills and a commitment to ethical standards in developing agency policies and practices while ensuring compliance with Ontario regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and represent cases in all judicial levels
• Draft legal documents and advise on child welfare issues
• Build relationships with stakeholders and community partners




• Conduct training sessions on legislative matters
• Document and manage ongoing legal activities

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in law with successful bar admission
• 1-2 years’ experience in relevant legal environments
• Membership in the Law Society of Ontario
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Reliable transportation and valid Ontario Driver’s License
