In this vital position under the Negotiations and Research Branch, you will lead PSAC's strategy on essential services and manage exclusions for bargaining units. Your comprehensive knowledge of labour law, negotiation processes, and dispute resolution will be crucial for effective representation in labour tribunals. You'll collaborate closely with PSAC management and members to uphold fairness and equity in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Formulate and implement PSAC’s essential services strategies
• Negotiate and advocate for worker rights in quasi-judicial settings
• Examine and classify job functions for exclusions
• Prepare and apply extensive research on labour legislation
• Communicate complex legal and policy principles effectively
Requirements:
• Expert knowledge in labour law and arbitration processes
• Bilingual in English and French
• Proven negotiation and advocacy expertise
• Proficient with relevant computer software
• Solid judgement and a commitment to union values
