You will join a team of 67 dedicated Youth Correction Officers working together to ensure safety and encourage social behavior development. This role requires a High School Diploma and two years of relevant experience. By employing a trauma-informed approach, you will contribute to transforming the lives of youth in custody while enhancing your interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Secure youth and staff safety in a custodial workplace
• Cultivate supportive relationships with youth in custody
• Support a trauma-informed approach to address youth needs
• Collaborate with various community partners for effective service
• Assist youth in developing better decision-making skills
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Two years of experience in related work
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license mandatory
• Must be a Canadian resident or Permanent Resident
• Ability to complete security screening and medical assessment
Contribute to youth development and public safety as a Youth Correctional Officer in Burnaby.
