As part of the Critical Care team, you will lead nursing services for patients in both the ICU and CCU, directly affecting outcomes in various high-risk situations. This role emphasizes collaborative practice, comprehensive training, and mentoring of nursing staff. Your aim will be to advocate for patient welfare, applying judgment in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer specialized care to critically ill medical and surgical patients
• Work within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Mentor junior staff and facilitate their learning
• Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Make critical decisions and support families in distress
Requirements:
• Registered with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
• 3+ years of ICU experience within recent settings
• Hold current BCLS-HCP certification
• Familiarity with advanced hemodynamic concepts is a plus
• Experience as a preceptor is preferred
