As a Recreation Aide at Extendicare, you will contribute to a fulfilling and supportive environment for seniors. This full time position focuses on program development and resident participation.

Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the Aide helps design, implement, and assess activities that benefit residents’ quality of life. Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate attitude toward seniors are essential for success in this role. You will work closely with families, staff, and volunteers to foster a community atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the planning of engaging resident programs
• Maintain detailed records of activities and participation
• Communicate updates on events to stakeholders
• Facilitate resident outings and activity evaluations
• Provide assistance during meal services as needed

Requirements:
• Diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or equivalent
• Experience with elderly care preferred
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication capabilities
• Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check if not current
