Empower youth in Fort McMurray as a full time Youth Support Worker with the YMCA. This hybrid position focuses on life skill development and community engagement for at-risk youth.
As a Youth Support Worker, you’ll provide essential support and resources to vulnerable youth at critical transitions. Your role involves creating individualized support plans, leading workshops, and coordinating peer mentorship. Flexibility is vital, as you may need to work evenings or weekends to effectively reach the youth in your community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake assessments and verify eligibility
• Develop individualized action plans with youth
• Facilitate workshops per program mandates
• Perform detailed case management duties
• Engage with community organizations for youth support
Requirements:
• Relevant degree or diploma in social work or education
• Minimum two years’ experience with youth
• First Aid, CPR-C, and crisis intervention certifications
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
