Join the University of Manitoba as the Director of Human Research Ethics, influencing ethical practices in research while acting as Strategic Advisor to the VP of Research and International. This in-person role is essential for ethical integrity in research with human participants.
Reporting directly to the Vice-President (Research and International), this position is charged with implementing ethical standards that comply with legislation and foster a culture of compliance. You will develop educational initiatives surrounding research ethics, support the operation of the Human Ethics Resource Committee, and lead policy development initiatives in alignment with UM's strategic plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the ethics review framework for human research protocols
• Ensure timely compliance with ethical regulations
• Guide training sessions for faculty on research ethics
• Develop institutional policies related to human research
• Collaborate with external stakeholders on strategic projects
Requirements:
• Completed PhD in a related discipline
• Five years of experience in research ethics
• Comprehensive understanding of TCPS2 and other relevant acts
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Background in facilitating change and leading initiatives
