I am a homeowner in Southwest Middlesex, Ontario, looking for a reliable house sitter.

The responsibilities will primarily include mail collection and managing trash and recycling during my absence.

Dates: October 3, 2026 October 21, 2026 Schedule Required: Daily visits required only on the following 11 specific dates: Block 1: Saturday, Oct 3 & Sunday, Oct 4 Block 2: Thursday, Oct 8 through Monday, Oct 12 (Thanksgiving long weekend) Block 3: Thursday, Oct 15 through Sunday, Oct 18 Note: Someone else will be managing the property from Monday to Wednesday each week, so you are only responsible for the 11 specific dates listed above Pay Rate: $440 CAD Flat Rate for the completion of all 11 visits (equivalent to $40/day) Job Description: We are looking for a reliable, independent house sitter to provide general home security and basic property maintenance for our rural home near Melbourne, ON while we are away.

Because we have another individual covering the property at the start of the week, we strictly need someone to cover our weekend and extended weekend blocks.

Due to our rural location, having your own reliable vehicle is an absolute requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities (On Specified Dates Only):Daily Walkthrough:



Visit the home once per day to check the property, ensure all doors/windows remain securely locked, and verify there are no utility or rural property issues (e.g., checking power, water/pump status, or leaks).

Lighting Rotation: Turn specific indoor/outdoor lights on and off during your visits to ensure the home looks actively lived-in.

Mail & Flyer Collection: Collect daily mail, packages, and flyers so nothing piles up at the end of the driveway or porch.

Basic Property Upkeep: Keep the front entryway explicit of heavy fallen autumn leaves or debris.

Requirements: Must have a valid driver''s license and a reliable personal vehicle capable of commuting to rural Melbourne.

Exceptional reliability and clear, prompt communication are a must.

Willingness to provide references or consent to a basic background check.
