Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English or French Hours: 30 to 60 hours per week Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Tasks Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Professionalism in customer service Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Transport and handle dangerous goods Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Driver''s License (Class 1 or A) Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate Documentation knowledge Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Trip reports Type of trucking and equipment Flatbed Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles)
