Gate Firewall Engineer Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Hybrid Experience: 6 8 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Forti

Gate Firewall Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Fortinet security technologies and public cloud networking (Azure/AWS/OCI) .

The candidate will be responsible for firewall management, network security, hybrid cloud connectivity, troubleshooting, and automation.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and configure Forti

Gate firewalls and FortiOS in enterprise environments.

Configure security policies, user authentication, SSL VPN and IPsec VPN .

Create and manage IPS rules, application control, and other Fortinet security features .

Manage Forti

Gate environments at scale using Forti

Manager and Forti

Analyzer .

Design, configure, and troubleshoot Fortinet SD-WAN .

Deploy and manage Forti

Gate-VM instances in public cloud environments.

Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, and static routing in hybrid cloud environments.

Design and manage Azure/AWS/OCI virtual networks, peering, and routing .

Work with Azure Express

Route, AWS Direct Connect, and OCI Fast

Connect .

Configure User-Defined Routes (UDRs) and route traffic through Forti

Gate NVA.

Work with Azure Load Balancer, Azure Route Server, DNS, route tables, HA and other advanced networking services .





Design and support VPN hub architectures, HA/DR, and hybrid cloud connectivity .

Collaborate with ISP backbone/network teams for connectivity and troubleshooting.

Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across the OSI stack .

Automate infrastructure and firewall configurations using Terraform, Microsoft Bicep, Python, and Power

Shell .

Maintain technical documentation and follow security standards and best practices.

Required Skills: 6 8 years of overall network/security engineering experience.

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Forti

Gate/FortiOS and current Fortinet technologies .

Strong expertise in Forti

Gate, Forti

Manager, Forti

Analyzer, and Fortinet SD-WAN .

Solid knowledge of Azure, AWS, and/or OCI networking .

Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, static routing, VPN, HA/DR, and hybrid cloud networking .

Experience with Forti

Gate-VM/NVA deployments in public cloud .

Experience with Terraform, Bicep, Python, or Power

Shell automation .

Strong understanding of network security concepts and NIST/CIS standards .

Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications: Fortinet NSE 4 / FCP Fortinet NSE 6 / NSE 7 / FCSS Microsoft AZ-104 / AZ-700 AWS networking certification or equivalent OCI networking certification or equivalent
