Covenant House Vancouver is hiring a Youth Support Worker dedicated to helping youth aged 16-24 who are at risk of homelessness. This role in the Rights of Passage Program combines relationship-building with practical support to assist in life skills and employment preparation while navigating trauma. Your contributions are vital for fostering independence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess youth needs and provide practical resources
• Develop trusting relationships with youth participants
• Facilitate goal-setting and action plans for success
• Address crises with trauma-informed practices
• Maintain accurate records of youth progress and incidents
Requirements:
• Social service diploma/degree or related experience
• Minimum two years’ relevant work experience required
• First Aid and Crisis Intervention training is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and empathy
• Capable of handling physical demands of the role
