Metro Machine Works is looking for a 4th year Apprentice or a Journeyman Machinist.

Every job is different, which makes the work interesting! Responsibilities: - Program, set up and operate CNC mills to produce precision parts and instruments (manual lathe experience would also be an asset) -Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications - Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers - Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. - (Threading/Boring)



Bearing diameters and all calculations - Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process - Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy - Maintain a clean and safe work environment - Troubleshoot issues with machines and make necessary adjustments or repairs Requirements: - CNC experience - Ability to consistently maintain tolerances of .005 - Ability to use measuring equipment. - Knowledge of and ability to select appropriate tools, tool holders, cutters, inserts. - High school diploma or equivalent - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently or as part of a team - Speak English / Valuable communication skills If you are a skilled machinist looking for an opportunity to showcase your expertise in a dynamic manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.
