Position Overview The Government Services Integration Cluster is seeking Junior Software Developers to support the design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, conversion, migration, and troubleshooting of enterprise applications.

The successful candidates will translate technical system specifications into working and tested applications, develop programming specifications, write and generate code, work with data-driven applications, conduct unit testing, and provide technical assistance throughout implementation, conversion, and migration activities.

The role will work closely with IT professionals, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

- Translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications.

- Develop detailed programming specifications.

- Write and/or generate application code.

- Compile and work with data-driven programs.

- Maintain applications and conduct unit testing.

- Design, code, test, debug, and document applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems arising during the use and operation of software packages.

- Provide technical assistance during software implementation, conversion, and migration activities.

- Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

- Participate in application design, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

- Elicit and document information from diverse business-area stakeholders and subject matter experts.

- Participate in design walkthrough sessions with project teams.

- Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.

- Prepare user and system documentation as required.

- Support structured methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance.





- Contribute to the quality and successful delivery of assigned technical solutions while meeting project deadlines.

Requirements

Mandatory General Skills & Experience

Candidates must demonstrate experience in the following areas:

- Programming and analysis, including specialized software package support at the required experience level.

- Collaboration with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

- Structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation, and maintenance of applications.

- Application design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

- Use of object-oriented and/or third-generation language development tools.

- Experience with one or more programming languages.

- Application design, current/latest design patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting.

- Relational and hierarchical database technologies.

- Information retrieval packages using query languages.

- One or more communications protocols.

- Structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of applications.

- Eliciting and documenting information from diverse business-area stakeholders and subject matter experts.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work effectively as a team player and consistently meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience The following experience will be considered an asset:

- Programming Internet-ready applications.

- Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.

- Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.

- Middleware and gateways.

- Reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts, including encoding, testing, and debugging.

- Providing post-implementation support and resolving post-implementation technical issues.

- Conducting design walkthrough sessions with project teams.

- Knowledge and understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.





- Preparing and maintaining user and system documentation.

Oracle Software Developer – Additional Skills

Where applicable, candidates with Oracle Software Development experience should demonstrate:

- Experience conducting impact assessments on Oracle E-Business application customizations and extensions.

- Strong conversion experience with Accounts Receivable Collection modules.

- Strong programming skills in
- Oracle Database

- PL/SQL

- SQL

- XML

- Unix Shell Scripts

- Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)

- Proven business knowledge of Oracle E-Business modules, including:

- General Ledger (GL)

- Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Collections

- Accounts Payable (AP)

- Inventory (INV)

- Strong knowledge of Oracle E-Business table structures related to:

- GL

- AR

- Collections

- AP

- INV

- FND

- Strong knowledge of SQL tuning and use of partitioned tables.

- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL methodologies, and OBIEE.

- Experience with Java and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) is a strong asset.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Leadership abilities to oversee the technical quality assurance of a project.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will combine hands-on software development capabilities with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Candidates should be comfortable working in structured development environments, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders, and supporting applications through development, testing, implementation, migration, and post-implementation phases.

Experience with the listed Informatica, Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, metadata management, data governance, API/metadata automation, and Agile technology environment will be particularly relevant to the assignment.

Work Requirements

- 100% onsite in Toronto

- 5 days onsite per week

- Must be available for the full contract period.

- Robust communication and collaboration skills are required.

- Candidates must be able to work effectively with IT professionals, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
