**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Job Description**
The General Production Worker supports a highly automated manufacturing facility by rotating between packing finished candy, inspecting product quality, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
This role ensures that all packaged products meet quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety standards while working closely with machine operators and other production staff.
**Responsibilities**
Rotate between workstations, including feeding finished candy onto the dumping table and inspecting candy quality to ensure all packaged products meet established standards.
Pack bagged candy into cardboard boxes at designated machines and manually load completed boxes onto empty pallets for transfer to the warehouse.
Communicate material and supply requirements promptly to the appropriate personnel to support continuous production.
Provide day-to-day support to machine operators, including assisting with line operations as needed.
**Essential Skills**
At least 6 months of general labour or general production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
Ability to perform packing and general labor tasks, including repetitive motions and standing for extended periods.
Capability to lift up to 30 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with forklift operation is an asset.
Exposure to machine operating in an automated or semi-automated production line is beneficial.
Familiarity with working in a GMP-regulated facility or food manufacturing setting.
Comfort with rotating continental shifts, including both day and night shifts.
Ability to accurately record batch information and maintain basic production documentation.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a large, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that operates under strict GMP standards.
The environment is very clean, and equipment is heavily automated and state-of-the-art.
Team members must comply with GMP and safety requirements,
including wearing personal protective equipment such as hairnets, beard nets, coats, and safety shoes.
The facility employs approximately 400–500 people, with about 100 employees per crew across four rotating crews.
It operates 24/7 on rotating continental day and night shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM). A typical rotation may include two day shifts followed by days off, then three night shifts, with subsequent days off, and continued rotation between days and nights.
Candidates who can only work days or only nights may be considered for contract opportunities, depending on operational needs.
The work involves standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and working around automated machinery in a structured, process-driven environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Hamilton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
