Key
Responsibilities
  • Perform welding,
    fabrication, installation, modification, and repair work on
    production and facility equipment.
  • Weld
    stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, and other metals using
    appropriate welding processes.
  • Perform TIG,
    MIG, stick, and other welding as
    required.
  • Fabricate and repair machine guards,
    frames, platforms, railings, brackets, chutes, tanks, and piping
    components.
  • Complete sanitary stainless-steel
    welds suitable for a food-production
    environment.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet
    quality, safety, and operational
    requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints,
    technical drawings, sketches, and equipment
    specifications.
  • Measure, cut, bend, grind, fit,
    and assemble metal components.
  • Troubleshoot
    damaged or failed equipment and determine appropriate repair
    methods.
  • Perform preventive and corrective
    maintenance according to established
    schedules.
  • Support equipment installations,
    plant renovations, shutdowns, and continuous-improvement
    projects.
  • Complete work orders and accurately
    document repairs, materials,



    and maintenance
    activities.
  • Coordinate work with production,
    sanitation, contractors, and other maintenance
    trades.
  • Follow all GMP, HACCP, food-safety,
    sanitation, lockout/tagout, hot-work, and company safety
    procedures.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools,
    and work areas in a protected, clean, and organized
    condition.
  • Participate in overtime or emergency
    call-outs when required.
  • Perform other
    maintenance and fabrication duties within the scope of the
    position.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson
    Welder certification is preferred; Red Seal endorsement is a strong
    asset.
  • Previous industrial welding and
    fabrication experience is required.
  • Experience
    in food processing, meat production, manufacturing, or a similar
    industrial environment is an asset.
  • Strong TIG
    welding experience, particularly with stainless steel, is
    preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce
    clean, smooth, sanitary welds.
  • Experience with
    MIG, stick, plasma cutting, grinding, and metal-forming
    equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret
    blueprints, drawings, measurements, and welding
    symbols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and
    troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of welding
    procedures, applicable codes, and safe hot-work
    practices.
  • Ability to work independently and
    collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance




    team.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality,
    cleanliness, and workplace
    safety.
Physical and Work
Requirements
  • Ability to lift and
    carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk,
    bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated
    areas.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated,
    warm, wet, noisy, and physically demanding
    environments.
  • Ability to work around raw meat
    products, processing equipment, and sanitation
    chemicals.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours,
    including evenings, nights, weekends, overtime, shutdowns, and
    emergency call-outs when required.
  • Required to
    wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow strict
    hygiene and sanitation
    procedures.
