Your Team:
Join the Crew Scheduling team at Flair as a Supervisor, Crew Scheduling, where you will help lead and support the day-to-day delivery of crew scheduling operations in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Crew Scheduling, you will work closely with the Crew Scheduling team, SOCC Duty Officers, and Dispatch to support operational coverage and effective crew coordination. This role works a variable schedule, primarily following a 4-on/4-off rotation of 12-hour day shifts, including weekends and holidays, with overtime required as operational needs arise.
This role is an on-site position based at our Toronto, ON office.
A Day in the Life:
As a Supervisor, Crew Scheduling, you will:
- Provide direct support and management to Crew Schedulers during shifts, participating in all aspects of daily operational decisions and executing ad hoc aircraft scheduling changes impacting crew member schedules.
- Offer feedback to SOCC Duty Officers and Crew Planning/Crew Training departments regarding crew utilization for pilots and flight attendants and communicate with flight crews after schedule publication.
- Actively ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations for Flight Duty Period exceedances, reporting any Unforeseen Operational Circumstances.
- Monitor and contribute to FRMS/SMS functions, reporting crew violations, identifying root causes, and developing protocols for daily operations.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Crew Scheduling in creating, modifying, and delivering necessary processes for department staff to follow.
- Mentor, train, and develop Crew Schedulers through planned review meetings and regular skill assessments to ensure standards are met.
- Assist in testing and development of Crew Management software, providing feedback to the SOCC and Crew System Analyst.
- Identify and report system or employee deficiencies to the Manager of Crew Scheduling for immediate resolution.
- Participate in employee engagement activities with the Manager of Crew Scheduling, including conducting interviews for potential hires and performance reviews for current Crew Schedulers.
- Complete reports as required and participate in special projects such as UAT, new process development, and provide feedback on operational compliance, crew utilization, and cost controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned, such as TMS development.
- Create and maintain employee schedules.
- Responsible for assisting with and maintaining all training records, ensuring seamless workflow between TMS software and NavBlue.
- Create and follow up on reports, Preventive/Corrective Action Requests (PCAR), and audit findings.
- Initiate the creation and implementation of corrective action plans in response to Event/Hazard reports.

- Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience:
- Crew Scheduling experience is required.
- Prior experience in an Airline Operations Centre or Airport Operations is an asset.
- Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) related to 705 operations is preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Skilled at handling multiple tasks while maintaining an organized and efficient workflow.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply CARs regulations, related legislation, and company policies.
- Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure while managing Crew Scheduler teams.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress,
and constantly changing environment, prioritizing tasks and deadlines.
- Capable of making sound decisions related to crew scheduling and meeting customer needs for charters and flights.
- Must be available and flexible to work on a 24/7 basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a commitment to prioritizing work responsibilities.
- Strong attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
