**Job Title: Journeyman Millwright/Heavy Equipment Technician – Service Rig and Hydraulic Systems**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on the repair, maintenance, inspection, and retrofit of industrial equipment in an operating service rig environment, with a robust emphasis on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

You will manage the full repair cycle from equipment tear-down and inspection through troubleshooting, parts identification, and complete rebuilds.

The position requires a Journeyman certificate with proven experience in the service rig industry, capable of assessing component condition based on function and application rather than relying solely on new-equipment standards, while maintaining accurate documentation and delivering safe, reliable equipment performance.
**Responsibilities**
Disassemble and reassemble industrial equipment, including valves, pumps, and related components, in a service rig environment.

Perform detailed tear-downs, inspections, and rebuilds of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic (air) systems, identifying root causes of failures and performance issues.

Assess component condition and determine acceptable serviceability based on function and application rather than only new-equipment specifications.

Carry out repair, maintenance, and retrofit work on operating equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety standards.

Use measurement tools and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to verify dimensions, tolerances, and proper assembly.

Identify required replacement parts, prepare parts lists, and coordinate with internal teams or vendors to obtain components.
**Essential Skills**
Journeyman millwright certification or equivalent trade qualification.

Minimum 3 years of experience in the assembly and disassembly of industrial equipment.

Demonstrated service rig industry experience.

Experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.

Experience with pneumatic (air) systems, including diagnosis and repair.

Proficiency in performing repair and retrofit work on operating equipment.

Hands-on experience with tear-down, inspection, and rebuilding of mechanical systems and components.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Competence in using measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Experience working with valves, pumps, and related mechanical equipment.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in southeast Calgary.

Standard shift options include a day shift from Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and an afternoon shift from Monday to Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with overtime eligibility after 8 hours per day on days and after 10 hours per day on afternoons, plus a premium for afternoon work.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $44.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
