**Job Title: Quality Leader**
**Job Description**
The Quality Leader drives operational performance within a manufacturing operations unit by implementing the operating plan and ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.

This role leads a unionized team, embeds a ‘right first time' culture, and continuously improves processes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

The Quality Leader ensures functional activities are aligned with the organization's strategic vision and fosters a highly engaged, customer-focused team environment.
**Responsibilities**
Achieve the required performance of the Operations Unit by supporting and implementing the operating plan while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule targets.

Plan, implement, and control functional activities to meet Operations Unit objectives and performance metrics.

Supervise unionized employees in their daily work, ensuring they execute their responsibilities effectively and in alignment with operational goals.

Continuously improve business processes to achieve best practices in quality, cost efficiency, and labour relations.

Coach, develop, and provide constructive feedback to employees, addressing their concerns and fostering strong engagement within the team.

Utilize Lean methodology to drive improvements in both quality and cost for Operations Unit deliverables in line with the organization's strategic vision.

Promote a ‘Safety first' culture by maintaining high housekeeping standards (5S) and ensuring adherence to safe working practices.

Ensure the functional role is fully integrated into the Operations Unit to promote a cohesive, one-team approach.

Develop and sustain a ‘right first time' environment where quality is built into the product rather than relying on inspection alone.

Oversee and support quality inspection activities to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.

Effectively delegate work within the team to meet production, quality, and schedule commitments.

Monitor and manage operational performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective action where necessary.

Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, and other functional teams to align quality initiatives with overall business objectives.

Support and contribute to organizational excellence and transformation initiatives across the operations environment.

Demonstrate robust line management capabilities, including performance management, resource allocation, and team development.
**Essential Skills**
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technical discipline.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in operations or manufacturing management, including oversight of teams and budgets.

Hands-on experience using Lean and Six Sigma tools in shop floor processes.

Experience supporting transformations to establish and develop organizational excellence in an operations environment.

In-depth knowledge and experience working in an environment that utilizes key performance indicators (KPIs).

Previous experience working in a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective agreements.

Strong customer-oriented mindset with a desire to provide excellent service.

Demonstrated ethics, integrity, and honesty in all professional activities.

Respectful, cooperative approach to working with colleagues at all levels.

High level of motivation to achieve results and drive continuous improvement.

Ability to express ideas logically, clearly,



and coherently, both verbally and in writing.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or heavy manufacturing environments is considered an asset.

Practical experience with quality inspection processes and standards in a manufacturing setting.

Familiarity with work delegation and workload planning in an operations or production context.

Exposure to line management responsibilities in a unionized manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of 5S and other workplace organization tools used to support safety and efficiency.

Strong interpersonal skills to build trust, engagement, and collaboration within diverse teams.

Ability to integrate quality, cost, and labour considerations into decision-making.

Comfort working with metrics-driven performance environments and continuous improvement initiatives.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a manufacturing operations unit that operates on a shift schedule, with both day and afternoon shifts available.

You will work closely with unionized employees on the shop floor in a hands-on environment that emphasizes safety, 5S housekeeping standards, and adherence to established working practices.

The setting is fast-paced and metrics-driven, with a strong focus on quality, cost, and schedule performance.

You will be expected to adapt to various shifts as required and to engage directly with production, operations, and quality teams in a collaborative, team-based environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $58.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Mississauga,ON.
