The
Facilities Electrical Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining,
and repairing electrical, fire life safety, and building automation systems
across the facility.

This role supports preventative maintenance, emergency
response, and system upgrades while ensuring compliance with codes, safety
standards, and standard operating procedures.

They collaborate with contractors
and tradespeople, interpret technical documentation, maintain accurate records,
and contribute to asset reliability, energy efficiency, and operational
continuity through proactive maintenance and problem-solving.
**What success looks like**
Maintain, service,inspect, and repair electrical, fire life safety, and building automationsystems, including but not limited to power distribution, emergency andbackup systems, lighting and control systems, fire alarm systems, andcommunication systems.

Conduct routine anddetailed inspections to identify wear, performance degradation, faults,loose connections, overloaded circuits or safety and code complianceissues, etc.

Performpreventative maintenance following PM schedules, task checklists,manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.

Typical tasksinclude inspecting wiring and connections, testing and calibrating devicesand sensors, and maintaining distribution, lighting, control, andautomation systems, etc.

Diagnose andtroubleshoot system issues including but not limited to electrical faults,power disruptions, control system errors, sensor malfunctions, or failuresin lighting or automation systems.

Complete repairs within trade scope,escalating complex issues.

Respond to alarms,service calls, tickets, and operational disruptions to support emergencyresponse, maintain occupant safety, and ensure continuous buildingoperations.





Implement temporary solutions and coordinate follow-uprepairs.

Coordinate theinspection, testing, maintenance, and operation of electrical vaults,power distribution, fire alarm, and building automation systems.

Act asthe subject matter expert for troubleshooting, performance optimization,and system integration.

Maintain accuraterecords of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and systemmodifications to support compliance, traceability, asset management, andknowledge sharing.

Prepare reports summarizing work completed, issuesidentified, and recommendations for improvements.

Monitor inventoryof tools, consumables, and parts, and coordinate reordering as needed toensure maintenance readiness and operational continuity.

Support capital andoperational projects involving electrical, fire life safety, and buildingautomation upgrades, replacements, and retrofits by reviewing designdocuments, provide input on maintainability of designs, coordinatinginfrastructure tie-ins and system shutdowns, and assisting with systemintegration.

Collaborate withengineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure project compliance withall applicable codes, standards, drawings, specifications, and bestpractices.

Review andinterpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, andspecifications to ensure accurate installations and integration withexisting systems.

Identify andrecommend opportunities to enhance system performance, energy efficiency,safety, and sustainability.

Contribute to lifecycle planning, energymanagement initiatives, asset management, and long-term infrastructureimprovements.

Adhere to allworkplace safety regulations, environmental codes, trade standards, andlegislation.

Stay current on regulatory updates and emerging technologies,and participate in training, toolbox talks, audits, and inspections topromote continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.

Identify andmitigate any hazardous situations, taking immediate action to make safeand reporting unresolved concerns to supervisors.

Supportinspections, maintenance, repairs, and projects as required, collaboratingwith tradespeople, contractors, and other personnel under the supervisor'sdirection.

Guide assignedworkers in the performance of the work, as required.

Acquire the annualelectrical operating permit for the Canada Place Facility.

Perform otherassigned duties as required and operate tools and equipment.
**What you bring:**
Completion of ahigh school diploma, along with a valid electrical trade certification anda minimum of 5 years of post-certification experience in electricalsystems within a similar environment.
A valid electrical

Field Safety Representative (FSR) Class A license is required.

Completion of firealarm system testing and inspection course is required or must be obtainedwithin 6 months of employment.

Proficiency in MSOffice Suite, building automation systems, and maintenance managementsystems is required.
A Registered Fire

Protection Technician (ASTTBC)



certification and formal training inbuilding automation are considered assets.

Must be adependable, safety-conscious individual with strong technical knowledge ofelectrical, fire life safety and building automation systems.

Requires theability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced,service-oriented setting while exercising sound judgment andinitiative.

Must be physicallycapable of performing demanding tasks, including work in confined spaces,at heights, and near water.

Strongproblem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential forinteracting effectively with team members, contractors, and the public.
A proactiveapproach to preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, and continuousimprovement is expected.

**Salary:**
The starting rate for this position is $60.13 per
hour, with scheduled wage progression in accordance with the International
Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 517 collective agreement.

This position is
required to work in diverse environments, including exposure to noise, odors,

The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid Marine
Transportation Security Clearance as this position is required to access
