**Position Description**
We are looking to hire a full-time (1.0 FTE) senior Research Coordinator (RC) to join our youth and family-specific engagement in research (UNITE) team.

This UNITE project is funded by CIHR and incorporates an integrated knowledge translation (iKT) approach.

The project is lead by two Principal Investigators (PIs) Dr.

Sarah Munce (nominated PI, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital) and Dr.

Alene Toulany (co-PI, Sick

Kids), as well as a youth-PI.

The position will involve working across two research institutions, and is offered as a one-year contract, renewable for an additional year.

Funding is secured for the role for a total of two years.

The project is currently finalizing a youth and family-specific engagement framework, and the RC role will be focused on developing related reporting guidelines and a validated engagement measure.

The UNITE team is also supporting the development of a provincial youth and family engagement in research hub to build capacity for meaningful engagement in child health research across Ontario.

The RC role includes designing and implementing online modified Delphi methods (e.g., preparing and submitting REB applications at both Sick

Kids and Holland Bloorview, implementing iterative online surveys, recruitment of expert participants), analyzing results (including rapid quantitative and content analysis between Delphi rounds), planning and coordination of a consensus meeting after the online modified Delphi, preparing the final reporting guideline, and psychometric testing of the engagement measure (with support from a statistician).

The RC will also work closely with our youth PI to co-lead and coordinate study activities with our iKT panel.

The RC will contribute to preparing study results and related outputs, including presentations, progress reports, manuscripts and grant applications related to this body of work.





In addition to the Delphi and consensus work, the RC will contribute to the development and implementation of the youth and family engagement hub, including coordinating knowledge user consultations and meetings, supporting resource development and dissemination, helping organize networking and educational activities, contributing to the development of the hub website and conference, and supporting partnership-building activities.

The RC role will be supported by a part-time Research Assistant.
**Here's What You'll Get**

Work closely with the PIs and broader research team to coordinate the development of a youth- and family-specific reporting guideline and validated engagement measure.

Lead and contribute directly to the day-to-day coordination and implementation of online modified Delphi studies, including preparation of research ethics applications, survey development and administration, participant recruitment, tracking, and follow-up, with support from a Research Assistant.

Provide day-to-day guidance to the Research Assistant, including delegating appropriate tasks, reviewing work, and supporting timely completion of project deliverables.

Conduct rapid quantitative and qualitative/content analyses between Delphi rounds and prepare findings to inform subsequent rounds.

Plan and coordinate consensus meetings, including meeting materials, facilitation support, documentation of decisions, and follow-up on action items.

Support psychometric testing and validation of the engagement measure in collaboration with the study team and statistician.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with youth, families, community organizations, researchers, healthcare professionals, and other partners.

Contribute to the development and implementation of the provincial youth and family engagement in research hub, including consultations, resource development, networking and educational activities, website and conference development, and partnership-building.

Develop and maintain project workplans, timelines, deliverables, documentation, and tracking systems across multiple concurrent activities.

Proactively provide the PIs and project leads with timely updates on project progress, upcoming decisions, risks, delays, and issues requiring input or escalation.

Coordinate study team and partner meetings, including scheduling, agenda and material preparation, documentation of key decisions and action items, and follow-up to ensure completion.

Analyze and synthesize study data and contribute to interpretation of findings.

Exercise independent judgment and initiative in managing day-to-day project activities, identifying emerging challenges, developing potential solutions, and determining when consultation or escalation to project leadership is required.

Support research governance, ethics, data management, financial tracking, and other institutional requirements across the project.

Prepare and contribute to manuscripts, reports, presentations, abstracts,



and other research and knowledge translation activities related to the UNITE program as required.
**Here's What You'll Need:**
MSc. with 5-7 years relevant experience or PhD with 1-2 years relevant experience
Previous experience with online Delphi methods preferred; or, at minimum experience with online surveys
Previous experience with youth and/or family engagement is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear, concise, and timely project updates.

Demonstrated ability to communicate proactively with project leads about progress, decisions, risks, delays, and emerging issues.

Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with investigators, multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and other knowledge users.

Excellent project coordination and management skills, including managing timelines, deliverables, competing priorities, and large team meetings.

Strong follow-through and accountability, with the ability to independently track action items and ensure agreed-upon tasks are completed.

Sound professional judgment, including the ability to identify when issues require consultation or escalation and to keep relevant team members appropriately informed.

Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment and regular communication with project leadership and the broader team.

Initiative and adaptability, with the ability to anticipate project needs, identify potential barriers, and propose solutions.

Experience with qualitative analysis is considered an asset.
