**Data Center Technician**
**Job Description**
The Data Center Technician II supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of critical data center infrastructure.

In this role, you rack and stack servers, install fiber and copper cabling, assist with hardware upgrades, and resolve network and server issues.

You coordinate with vendors and project teams, maintain accurate documentation and inventory records, and provide mentorship to junior technicians while working in a dynamic data center and construction environment.
**Responsibilities**
Install, rack, and stack servers and related hardware in data center environments.

Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper data cabling for new and existing infrastructure.

Support hardware upgrades, including server, network, and related equipment installations.

Troubleshoot network and server issues, including connectivity, performance, and hardware faults.

Perform facilities-related tasks such as pulling wire and data cable in recent construction and refurbishment projects.

Use hand tools and electrical-related tools safely to support installation and maintenance activities.

Read and interpret technical drawings, rack elevations, and documentation to execute work accurately.

Maintain accurate documentation of installations, changes, and decommissioning activities.

Track and update inventory records for hardware, cabling, and related materials.

Coordinate with vendors and project teams to schedule and complete installation and maintenance work.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians to ensure quality and consistency of work.

Follow safety procedures when working with power, high voltage areas, ladders, overhead cable trays, and raised floors.

Support both new construction and refurbishment projects within data centers.

Organize work areas, tools, and materials to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe workspace.

Work independently to manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.
**Essential Skills**
**At least 2 years of experience with server racking, fiber and copper cabling, hardware installations, and troubleshooting.**
Solid technical troubleshooting skills for server and network hardware issues.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks without close supervision.

Ability to troubleshoot problems methodically while staying organized.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, rack elevations, and documentation.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with teams and vendors.

Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Comfort working on ladders, overhead cable trays, and raised floors.

Experience working in a data center environment.

Familiarity with server and network hardware components.

Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively during installation and maintenance work.

**Work Environment**

You travel and stay in hotels with the crew during project rotations, with flights and accommodations provided.

The work is hands-on, physically active, and performed in a structured yet dynamic setting where safety procedures and technical standards are closely followed.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Toronto,ON.
