Position: Intermediate Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist

Duration: 3 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Intermediate Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist to lead and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for technology solutions, business initiatives, programs, policies, and information systems involving the collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information.

The successful consultant will evaluate privacy risks, identify mitigation strategies, assess compliance with applicable privacy legislation and policies, and provide recommendations to ensure solutions align with legislative, regulatory, and organizational privacy requirements.

Scope

Assess compliance with privacy legislation, regulations, directives, standards, policies, and industry best practices.

Identify privacy risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and recommendations.

Review technical and non-technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flows, process maps, integration specifications, and business requirements.

Evaluate privacy implications associated with cloud-based, web-based, digital, and integrated technology solutions.

Assignment Deliverables

Completed Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).

Privacy risk assessments and mitigation recommendations.

Privacy compliance reviews and gap analyses.

Data flow diagrams and privacy documentation as required.

Expertise Required

Must Have:





Experienced in privacy legislation including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

Experienced in conducting privacy assessments involving personal information, citing examples in the resume.

Experienced in leading and conducting privacy assessments involving online and/or digital solutions.

Experience with privacy risks and conducting PIAs and the unique security and privacy challenges associated with various platforms.

Prior experience with leading and conducting multiple PIAs in OPS setting/environment, including demonstrated knowledge and experience with OPS processes, existing templates and expectations to obtain approvals/sign-off.

Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple and concurrent requests in an agile and highly dynamic work environment setting.

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, including security, privacy, data protection considerations, and best practices.

Experience with privacy assessments involving API integrations, hybrid environments, legacy systems, and cloud solutions.
