Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative student for a Fall/Winter internship supporting communications, marketing, and visual storytelling for CIM-TAC initiatives, including PARAREACH, a national applied research initiative advancing innovation and accessibility in Para sport.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies to promote PARAREACH initiatives, projects, and events ensuring alignment with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Support knowledge mobilization by translating research findings, insights, and technical information into accessible, engaging, and visually compelling formats.
- Support the creative development and 2D visual design of PARAREACH storytelling resources, including visualizing the Para athlete journey, research opportunities, and partner perspectives.
- Create visual storytelling materials such as infographics, illustrations, diagrams, posters, and other digital or print resources using Canva or similar design tools.
- Create high-quality content for various communication channels, including social media, websites, email, newsletters, slide decks, and print materials, tailored to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Showcase applied research projects, partner institutions, para-athlete informed needs, and emerging opportunities within Para sport through creative storytelling and visual content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (researchers, applied research staff, industry partners, and sport organizations) to gather information and insights for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, and outreach activities that foster engagement, networking, and relationship building.

Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or diploma program in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven strong work ethic, attendance record and productivity in an independent work environment demonstrated through previous employment, education, or volunteer experience.
- Proven ability to work within a team and communicate positively supporting new and different ideas
- Ability to complete work duties such as sitting, standing, and/ light physical effort over modest periods of time, with some opportunity for relief and task variety. The work may involve movement of average weight material with periodic requirements to lift heavier objects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or familiarity with Para sport, adapted activity and/or accessibility/inclusive design is considered an asset.
- Experience in writing for different media and audiences, concisely convey technical ideas, write engaging stories, and have familiarity with different visually compelling formats.
- Experience with 2D design, graphic design, visual communication, or visual storytelling, with the ability to translate information and ideas into engaging visual formats for diverse audiences (e.g., funders,
faculty, students, athletes, and sport organizations).
- Experience with creative design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Figma, or similar platforms.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to generate innovative ideas for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for innovation and a desire to contribute to the promotion of cutting-edge projects in Para sport.
Benefits and Compensation Information An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
