Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

This role provides assessment and instructional support across two required undergraduate engineering courses with combined enrolment of over 900 students. The successful candidate will work closely with course instructors and teaching assistants to maintain consistent, high-quality feedback on student assignments, with a particular focus on high-stakes assessments tied to program accreditation requirements. This role is best suited to a candidate who already has direct familiarity with the structure, rubrics, and grading standards, along with relevant industry experience, and who is comfortable supporting both instructors and a distributed team of graders in a fast-paced, collaborative teaching environment.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate and provide feedback on course assignments and applying rubrics consistently across student submissions.
- Support instructors and teaching assistants with grading calibration and rubric application to ensure fairness and consistency across graders.
- Coordinate with and support a multi-grader team (Winter term)



to maintain consistency across a larger marking team.
- Provide direct support to students and instructors on assessment-related questions and course logistics.
- Assist with the design and refinement of assessments, rubrics, and course materials, drawing on prior experience with these specific courses.
- Help ensure timely turnaround on high-stakes assignments critical to student success and accreditation compliance.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior experience grading or providing feedback on university-level assignments.
- Robust written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to apply rubrics consistently and provide constructive, actionable feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

- Direct experience as a teaching assistant, with familiarity with course rubrics and assessment structure.
- Experience coordinating or supporting a multi-grader team.
- Industry experience relevant to professional engineering practice.
- Experience with engineering entrepreneurship, incubator, or applied project environments.
