Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of ICT Services/CIO, the Business Analyst, AI and Data Strategy supports the effective use of artificial intelligence, data analytics, business intelligence, automation, and process improvement to strengthen service delivery, organizational effectiveness, and decision-making across the Board.
Working collaboratively with departments and leadership teams across the Board, the incumbent serves as a strategic advisor and partner in identifying operational needs and opportunities, gathering requirements, analyzing processes, facilitating organizational improvement initiatives, and leveraging data, analytics, automation, and technology solutions. The incumbent provides leadership in advancing responsible, secure, accessible, and privacy-informed solutions that align with Board priorities, applicable legislation, and best practices in governance and risk management.

Commencing: As soon as possible
Permanent full-time: 35 hours per week, working 12 months per year
Salary: $81,740 – $95,622 per year (Sept.1/25 rates)
Duties And Responsibilities
- Partner with departments to identify operational needs, process improvements, enterprise-wide digital transformation opportunities, and technology-enabled solutions that support Board priorities.
- Facilitate consultations, gather requirements, analyze workflows, and prepare documentation such as process maps, use cases, business cases, feasibility assessments, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate and provide leadership for cross-functional projects involving internal and/or external partners, including vendors and consultants as appropriate, by managing timelines, risks, communications, change impacts, and adoption activities.
- Support the development and implementation of the Board's AI strategy, governance practices, and responsible use framework.
- Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of AI, automation, reporting, dashboard, and digital service opportunities using business value, privacy, security, accessibility, and risk considerations.
- Support the development and implementation of the Board's data strategy, including data governance, stewardship, quality, classification, privacy, retention, reporting frameworks, and outcome-based measurement.
- Analyze organizational data to identify trends, insights, performance measures, and reporting solutions that support planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with ICT, Information Security, Privacy, and other partners to support compliance with legislation, Board policies, cybersecurity standards, accessibility requirements, and impact assessment processes.
- Develop and lead implementation of training, communication, and adoption strategies to support effective, inclusive, transparent, and accessible use of AI, data, automation, and digital tools.
- Monitor adoption, effectiveness, organizational impact, and return on investment, and recommend future opportunities.
Qualifications And Experience
- University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, data analytics, information systems, digital transformation, or related discipline.
- Ability to meet position requirements,
including attendance at Board sites and virtual meetings.
- Satisfactory Police Records Check, acceptable to the Board.
Assets
- Knowledge of AI technologies, data governance, analytics frameworks, privacy, cybersecurity, responsible use, and risk management principles.
- Experience gathering and analyzing organizational and operational requirements, facilitating project participant engagement, documenting business processes, and supporting organizational improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of privacy, freedom of information, and records management requirements, with experience working in the education sector or broader public sector environment.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, business intelligence tools, and technology-enabled process improvement.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Power BI, Copilot Studio, and modern cloud technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, relationship-building, project leadership, and change leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and practically for a range of audiences.
