? We’re Hiring: Procurement Specialist / Buyer | Cold Rolled Steel

Ellos HR Solutions is recruiting an experienced Procurement Specialist / Buyer for a well established manufacturing organization in Cambridge.

For this search, automotive experience is NOT required.

The most important requirement is very specific:

? You must have hands on experience purchasing COLD ROLLED STEEL from North American steel suppliers, particularly suppliers located in Canada and the United States.

If you have purchased cold rolled steel coils, sheet or related raw steel products for a manufacturing operation, we want to hear from you.

?️ What You’ll Be Doing

• Source and purchase cold rolled steel from Canadian and U.S. suppliers

- Negotiate steel pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, lead times and delivery schedules
- Manage supplier relationships and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction and improved commercial terms
- Monitor steel requirements, purchase orders, releases and incoming material to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations
- Support purchasing activities involving MRO materials, specialized tooling and other manufacturing requirements
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering and other internal departments to understand material requirements and purchasing priorities

• Manage purchasing activities through the ERP system, with Plex experience considered an asset

- Support supplier development, long term agreements and cost improvement initiatives

✅ What We’re Looking For

MUST HAVE:



Direct experience purchasing cold rolled steel from suppliers in Canada and/or the United States

3+ years of professional purchasing, procurement or buyer experience

Strong understanding of steel purchasing, supplier negotiations, pricing, lead times and material availability

Experience working within a manufacturing environment

Experience purchasing MRO and tooling is valuable, but the steel purchasing background is the priority

Automotive experience is welcome, but absolutely not required

Post secondary education in Supply Chain, Business or a related field is preferred

SCMP or similar supply chain designation is an asset

Robust ERP and Microsoft Excel skills
