Job Summary The Team The Eating Disorders Nurse position is part of the Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Kamloops team. This specialized team focuses on the assessment and treatment of eating disorders in children and youth within the catchment area. The team consists of one additional CYMH Eating Disorders Clinician and a Dietitian.

Team members collaborate and consult with a variety of health professionals in the community to provide services to individuals with a confirmed eating disorder.

The Role The Eating Disorder Clinician CYMH supports the Eating Disorders Team by providing assessment and treatment services to children and youth. This position requires the provision of direct mental health services, including assessment, intervention, and ongoing treatment. There is an expectation that the incumbent will deliver evidence-informed mental health treatment specific to eating disorders and work collaboratively with team members to support positive client outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

- Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.




- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Professional registration and certification requirements

- Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Note: “Immediately eligible for registration” means meeting all requirements for full professional registration and completing the registration process with the relevant BC professional association within six (6) months of employment.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

- One (1) or more years of experience in eating disorder services.
- One (1) or more years of experience providing mental health treatment and the delivery of evidence-based interventions for individuals with eating disorders.
