Overview

Akustus is seeking a talented CAD Designer or a related field to join our on-site team. The ideal candidate has experience in drafting, is proficient in design software, and can create accurate, high-quality visual representations for interior spaces and acoustic products. This role requires the ability to prepare accurate shop drawings using the required design software.

Minimum Requirements:

- College degree/CEGEP diploma
- minimum 1 year experience in graphic or architectural design

- Proficient in English (written and verbal)

Required Skills & Software:

- Software: SketchUp, Illustrator, Layout, Microsoft Excel, Autodesk 3ds Max, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop

- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings

- Highly organized and detail oriented

- Familiarity with design workflows

- Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish colors

- Excellent written and verbal communication in English

- Creativity, initiative, and client-focused approach

- Ability to work under pressure in a quick-paced environment

- Team player with efficient interpersonal skills





- Able to perform simple math calculations confidently

Responsibilities:

- Adapt existing illustrations and develop accurate and detailed shop drawings using sketchup, adobe illustrator and layout for client approval

- Develop realistic sketches, final illustrations, and 2D/3D computer-generated designs

- Coordinate production for print, audio-visual, or electronic materials

- Create 3D models using CAD software

- Read blueprints, schemas, and technical drawings

- Prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements

- Use photo/illustration libraries and typography guides

- Ensure adherence to deadlines and maintain high attention to detail

Nice to Have:

- Experience with acoustic product visualization
