Join the London Taxi team as a Call Taker / Dispatcher in a quick-moving, busy setting where no two moments are exactly the same.

Our dispatchers are an important part of our operation, connecting customers with drivers and helping keep thousands of trips moving throughout London and the surrounding area. You will work with a multi-line phone system, computer-based booking tools, and an automated dispatching system to manage incoming calls, book trips, communicate with drivers, and respond to changing situations throughout your shift.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying busy, working with people, and multitasking in an environment where things can change quickly.

Complete training is provided. Previous dispatch or transportation experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person who has the ability and willingness to learn.

Position & Availability

This is a part-time position.

We are specifically looking for applicants who have evening and/or overnight availability. The ability to work later shifts is an important part of this position, and applicants should be comfortable working during evenings, nights, and potentially weekends.

Flexible scheduling may be available based on operational needs and availability.

Responsibilities

- Answer a multi-line telephone system promptly and professionally.
- Take transportation bookings from a wide variety of customers.
- Use our automated dispatching system to enter, monitor, and manage bookings.
- Communicate with drivers and provide them with trip information, updates, and instructions.
- Communicate with customers regarding bookings, pickups, delays, and other questions.
- Monitor trips and respond appropriately when situations change.
- Handle multiple calls, bookings,



and requests while maintaining accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer or driver concerns quickly and professionally.
- Work as part of a team to keep the dispatch operation running smoothly.
- Perform other dispatch and call-taking duties as required.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Is available to work evenings and/or overnight shifts.
- Can confidently handle a multi-line phone system.
- Has excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Can multitask and prioritize when several things are happening at once.
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new software.
- Has strong attention to detail and can enter information accurately.
- Can remain calm, professional, and courteous when dealing with difficult or unexpected situations.
- Is dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Is willing to learn and become comfortable with our automated dispatching system.

Training

Full training is provided. You will be trained on our booking, dispatch, telephone, and computer systems, as well as our procedures for working with customers and drivers.

You do not need to already know how to dispatch a taxi. We are looking for people who are comfortable learning, can communicate well, and are able to keep up in a busy environment.
