About the Role
As a Chef de Partie, you will take ownership of an assigned section within our kitchen and play an important role in both preparation and service. You will work closely with our culinary leadership team to ensure your station is organized, properly prepared, and executing consistently to our standards. This role is suited to an experienced cook who is confident working independently during service while also contributing to the organization, communication, and success of the broader kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of an assigned kitchen station and ensure it is prepared and service-ready
- Prepare and execute high-quality dishes consistently according to recipe and presentation standards
- Complete daily mise en place and maintain appropriate prep levels for upcoming services
- Butcher, portion, and prepare fish, meat, seafood, and other ingredients as required
- Prepare sauces, reductions, garnishes, and accompaniments
- Support daily features and seasonal menu execution
- Maintain strong organization, cleanliness, and efficiency throughout preparation and service
- Monitor product quality, freshness, rotation, and waste
- Communicate prep levels,
product needs, and operational concerns proactively with culinary leadership
- Support and provide guidance to junior cooks when required
- Assist with receiving, storage, and organization of kitchen deliveries
- Support solid communication and teamwork across the brigade during service
- Complete station shutdown, cleaning, and proper handover for the following service
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and quality standards at all times
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of professional kitchen experience preferred
- Previous experience working a station in a fast-paced professional kitchen
- Strong understanding of fundamental cooking techniques, mise en place, and kitchen organization
- Culinary education or apprenticeship training preferred
- Red Seal certification considered an asset
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and positive attitude
- Ability to remain organized and execute consistently under pressure
- Passion for local and seasonal ingredients and elevated hospitality
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continue developing professionally
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
