Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Chiropodist, where you will play a vital role in delivering expert foot and lower limb care to to a privileged neighborhood of Ottawa. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical expertise with compassionate patient care, ensuring individuals receive effective treatment for a wide range of foot-related conditions. You will be instrumental in improving mobility, alleviating pain, and promoting overall foot health through comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment plans. In addition, you will be working with a podiatrist with 30 years experience in bone surgery who can help you develop soft tissue surgery techniques. No experience necessary and salary will reflect experience level. Also, work schedule is versatile and may be full-time 5 days per week or part-time 3 days per week.
Pay will be renumerated as a salaried employee, but also possibility to get paid with a percentage of gross revenue like a contractor.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ foot and lower limb health, utilizing medical terminology and diagnostic skills to identify issues accurately.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans focused on pain management, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, including bone surgery (Gatineau)
and soft tissue surgery, and custom-made orthotics
- Perform various chiropody procedures, including wound care, callus removal, nail and soft tissue surgeries, and orthotic fittings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using electronic health records (patient 7) to ensure seamless data collection and documentation.
- Administer medications and oversee medication administration protocols related to foot health when necessary.
- Engage in mentor-like activites to learn the best procedures from a podiatrist with 30 years experience
Experience
- Helpful to receive a higher salary, but no experience necessary
- Demonstrated expertise in pain management strategies specific to foot and lower limb conditions
- Strong understanding of chiropody procedures related to medication administration and wound management.
