The Class 1 Long-haul Truck Driver is responsible to the Production Manager for product delivery and/or pickup of bulk feed.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for following biosecurity and other company policies.
- Responsible for knowledge of all WHMIS and TDG regulations and procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of and executes all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as required by the organization and other regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for being self-motivated and being able to work independently.
- Maintains and represents a professional and positive image for the company at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including holiday relief.
- Functions as a team member.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and en-route inspections of truck and product.
- Deliver and pick up products as required by assigned route, ensuring smooth fulfillment of daily tasks in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Load and unload bulk feed deliveries according to CFIA standards (including following sequencing and flushing procedures as required).
- Maintain and update all records and paperwork according to Company standards (i.e. Bill of lading, Inspection report (Pre-trip, En-route, Post-Trip, Trip Reports, Unloading Logs).
- Inform manager immediately of concerns and/or problems while helping to correct any mistakes, especially regarding issues upon delivery of products.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness according to Company standards and policies.
- Verify that conveyances are up to date.
- Responsible for all purchases applied to fuel card holder’s account.
- Carry the necessary and required equipment on vehicle (changes, safety gear).
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Agriculture experience and/or feed mill experience would be an asset this position.
- Previous Class 1 driving experience would be an asset to this position.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 Education
- A valid BC Class 1 driver’s license
- Airbrake certification
- Willing to travel to the USA without restrictions.

- A good command of spoken and written English.
- Valuable interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Ability to operate equipment and work aids commonly used (GPS and other trip planning aids, perform brake adjustments, monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, perform emergency roadside repairs.)
- Physical strength and stamina to fulfill the required duties and responsibilities.
