The Project Manager will handle all aspects of project development (both current construction and major renovations) which include, but are not limited to the following duties:
- Managing permit applications including development permits and building permits
- Assist in Architectural and engineering design
- Budget and schedule creation and maintenance
- Assist in Manpower allocation for both subtrades and CCH staff
- Subtrade contract negotiations and administration
- Managing Material take-offs
- Overseeing the construction process of both new buildings and major renovations from beginning to end.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget, while adhering to bylaws and codes of various authorities having jurisdiction
- On site management of site supervisors and site foreman.
- A strict adherence to CCH's Business Code of Conduct and Ethics policy
- A strict adherence to CCH's health and safety program is imperative, including:
- Ensuring the projects you are overseeing are functioning in compliance with CCH’s safety program, AND
- Actively participating in the continuing development of the safety program, including recommending improvements to the policies and procedures
- Valid Driver's license
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- First Aid certificate would be an asset
This position reports directly to the president of Construction and Development (Mr. Dean Verschuur) Under this position, you will be compensated on an annual basis of $80,000.00 base salary, minus deductions for EI, CPP, taxes and the employee benefit plan.
Your salary will be directly deposited into your bank account every second Friday. On this wage, you will be required to work a 45–50-hour work week.
This position is located on Vancouver Island in the Comox Valley. The duration of the time on site, or in the office, will be partially determined by the status of the project(s) you are working on.
Benefits
At the end of the probationary period, you will be eligible and required to join the company Pacific Blue Cross benefits plan (unless provide proof of alternate health and/or dental coverage). The cost of this benefits plan is split 50/50 between CCH and you, the employee. This includes Life insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Health, and Dental coverage. You will also be eligible for bonuses depending on the success of the projects you are working on.
Vacation
You will receive 2 weeks paid vacation each year
Expense Account
You will receive a CCH expense MasterCard to be used for site purchase requirement (ie. Minor building materials).
Vehicle Allowance
You will receive a company vehicle or vehicle allowance. The vehicle allowance is a taxable benefit and will therefore be subject to tax.
Probationary Period
This position will have a 3-month probationary period. Permanent employment status will take effect upon the successful completion of probationary period. Once you have accepted the terms and conditions of employment, you will be provided a company cell phone, computer, and company Mastercard.
