Data Engineer Analytics and BI Co-op

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented co-op student to join our Data & Analytics team in a hybrid role spanning data engineering, data analytics, BI and AI development. You will work alongside data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to design data pipelines, model datasets, build interactive dashboards, and surface insights that drive real business decisions. This is a hands-on technical co-op designed for students who want exposure to the full analytics lifecycle: from ingestion and transformation, to modeling, to visualization and storytelling.

You will leave the term with production-grade work in your portfolio and meaningful contributions to live business reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Developing stored procedures, views, tables, and database designs using MSSQL and Databricks
- Building Power BI reports, Azure Data Factory pipelines, and solutions using Python and PySpark
- Participate in requirements analysis sessions with business users to understand reporting and analytical needs, translate them into clear technical requirements, and deliver proofs of concept (POCs) on assigned topics
- Assigned tasks under the guidance of the team lead as required

Key Qualifications

- Experience with SQL Server, Power BI, DAX, and SSAS Tabular models
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Databricks,



and databases such as MS SQL Server and MongoDB
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts and data architecture
- Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions with strong analytical skills
- Exposure to LLMs, AI tools, and emerging technologies
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to prioritise effectively
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Cooperative with a strong customer and product focus
- Results-driven with a mindset for continuous improvement and execution
