Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership across a growing group of operating and holding companies based in St. John's, NL. Reporting directly to the Owner, this hands-on leadership role offers the opportunity to play a key part in financial decision-making, business growth, acquisitions, and the continued development of the organization's accounting and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

- Oversee the financial management of multiple operating and holding companies
- Provide strategic direction and oversight of the accounting and finance functions
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against established objectives
- Oversee daily cash flow management and provide regular cash flow projections
- Provide financial advice and insights to support business and investment decisions
- Support growth strategy across existing and new businesses
- Prepare and assist with financial analysis and valuations of potential acquisition targets
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with lenders, external auditors, legal counsel, and other skilled advisors
- Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assess existing financial systems and processes and oversee new system implementations as required
- Lead, develop, and retain a capable accounting and finance team

Experience & Attributes for Success:

- CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and senior-level finance experience
- Several years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Experience overseeing accounting functions across multiple entities or business units
- Strong financial analysis and business valuation skills, with experience supporting acquisitions considered an asset




- Strong systems aptitude and experience with accounting/ERP system implementations or improvements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level in a growing organization
