Door Gurus Edmonton West is growing, and we're looking for another high-calibre technician to strengthen our field team.

We're not looking for a general labourer or someone who needs to be shown how to use tools. We want someone who can walk up to a door that isn't working properly, figure out why, determine the right repair, and execute clean qualified work.

If you're an experienced carpenter, door technician, commercial door technician, garage door technician, locksmith, renovation technician or mechanically strong service technician, we want to hear from you.

What you'll work on

Our technicians handle a wide range of residential and commercial service work, including:

- Exterior entry doors, patio doors and interior doors
- Door alignment, jamb and frame repairs
- Hinges, strikes, thresholds, sweeps and weatherstripping
- Locks, handles, deadbolts and electronic hardware
- Commercial closers, panic hardware, electric strikes and aluminum doors
- Garage doors, rollers, cables, tracks, springs and operators
- Storm and screen doors
- Door slab and complete door-system installations
- Troubleshooting water, air-leak, closing and operational issues
- Light carpentry, trim and finishing work

Some jobs are installations. A lot of them are diagnostic service calls where craftsmanship and problem-solving matter more than simply replacing parts.

What we're looking for

You should be comfortable working independently, using hand and power tools,



troubleshooting mechanical problems and dealing professionally with customers.

The strongest candidates will have experience in doors, carpentry, renovations, commercial hardware, garage doors, locksmithing or another mechanical service trade.

You also need

- Strong mechanical ability and attention to detail
- Confidence working independently in the field
- Clean, professional workmanship
- Good customer communication
- Ability to document jobs with photos and notes
- Valid driver's licence and a good driving record
- A mindset of fixing the problem properly, not just getting through the work order
