Drill Maintenance Technician We’re seeking an experienced Drill Maintenance Technician to join a technology-driven gold-mining operation in Northern Ontario. Reporting to the Drill Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the drill fleet’s performance in a safe, efficient, and highly automated mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair autonomous drilling equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, testing, calibration, and adjustments.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electro-hydraulic systems.
- Identify potential equipment issues and proactively address maintenance backlogs to minimize downtime.
- Support equipment reliability, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, shift logs, and equipment documentation.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to meet production and safety targets.
Key Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience maintaining drilling equipment in a mining environment.
- Heavy Equipment Technician diploma or related technical education.
- Experience with Epiroc drills, particularly Pit Viper 231 and D65, is highly valued.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, 24V controls, electro-hydraulic systems, and compressed air.
- Experience with autonomous drilling, maintenance software, or condition monitoring is an asset.
- Ontario Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal is an asset; equivalent technical experience will be considered. Must be willing to get Ontario certification
- Strong commitment to safety, problem-solving, teamwork, and equipment reliability.
