Job Title: HR Coordinator

Location: Edmonton (in-office)

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Position Overview:

The HR Coordinator provides HR support to the firm’s administrative leadership team, tasked with facilitating the various HR functions for all offices, including recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, record keeping, and general HR administration. This role requires a proactive and organized person who can succeed in a confidential and deadline-driven legal environment. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a law firm or professional services setting and understands that the HR Coordinator will play an integral role in maintaining a productive and professional legal practice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- - Facilitate the recruitment process including posting ads, performing pre-screenings, and booking interviews.
- Facilitate onboarding activities including preparing offer letters, document packages, coordinating office and systems setup, and scheduling orientations.

- Employee Life Cycle:
- - Facilitate the annual performance review cycles, including sending out forms and preparing raise letters.
- Assist with leaves administration and facilitate work accommodations processes.
- Support offboarding activities such as scheduling and facilitating exit interviews.

- Administration and Record Keeping:
- - Answer basic questions about company policies and forms.
- Maintain the HR records of the firm including personnel records and tracking sheets, forwarding any items having a payroll impact to the Payroll Coordinator for processing.
- Assist with annual salary surveys.
- Participate in and support the firm’s Health & Safety Committee.

Qualifications and Competencies:





- Post-secondary education certification in Human Resources;
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR capacity within a professional services environment;
- Superior organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities;
- Strong professional presence and conduct;
- Established knowledge of Microsoft office suite software (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams);
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail; and
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
