Job Summary:
Denali Projects Ltd. (Denali) is an EPC located in Calgary, Alberta. We provide services for small to medium-sized energy projects in Canada and worldwide.
Denali is currently looking for an Intermediate Electrical Designer to work with our project team. Our employees are driven and passionate in their chosen fields. Intermediate Electrical Designer Responsibilities The Intermediate Electrical Designer will work with multiple disciplines to ensure all engineering activities are accomplished. Duties will include:
- Complete electrical project designs (site and facility design schematics, layouts, power systems, lighting systems, protection, controls, etc.)
- Through prescribed techniques and standards, lead design and drawing assignments, including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing system components and enhancing sketches
- Evaluation of designs and redlines or mark-ups for quality assurance
- Under the direction of the engineering team, compute calculations for conduit/grounding layouts, equipment and panel wiring diagrams, and relay panel schematics
- Approve vendor drawings and documents
- Review design codes and specifications
- Production of design drawings considering scope, budget, and schedule.
- Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical design and layouts for project financial goals
- Review project drawings, plot files and project-related files and documents
- Follow all project design and drafting standards
- Assist in mentoring jr. electrical design and drafting team members
- Responsible for the electrical design QA/QC process
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma in drafting technology or related field and five to ten years of related experience
- Well-versed in design software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam and Excel. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs
- Expert ability to utilize 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings
- Expert knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems
- Expert knowledge in the theory and practices of assigned discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks
- Work collaboratively with others, including but not limited to clients (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team setting to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in energy industry projects
- Five to ten years of experience in design in conventional oil & gas projects

Pay: $40.00-$70.00 per hour
