Full time project manager/estimator for a fast growing construction company. Must have experience in the steel industry (Misc metals: railings, stairs and structural steel) managing from mid to large size jobs. Able to multitask and handle multiple ongoing projects at a time. Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) combined with excellent organizational skills.
Must posses problem solving skills and be able to timely address contractor's needs and deliverables. Review projects on the daily basis to ensure quality, standard and scheduling remain on track.
Duties
- Manage and oversee the estimating process for construction projects (misc metals and structural steel packages)
- Collaborate with drafting team, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Communicate with contractor and submit RFIs, as required.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates (takeoff) and proposals for bidding purposes
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids
- Monitor and track project throughout the construction process and prepare monthly progress billings.
- Provide guidance and support to the drafting team in order to execute job and provide customer deliverables in a timely manner. Attend on-site meetings as required throughout the project.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimating or project management
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
